How to remove yourself from Free People Directory

• What it asks for: the web address of your listing.

First, check whether you're listed

Search your name on Free People Directory with each city you've lived in, and look for your age and relatives to be sure it's you. The free planner opens that search with your name already filled in, for every name and place you give it.

Send the removal request

1. Find your listing on the name search
2. Open your listing and copy its address
3. Open the opt-out page and follow the removal form shown there
4. Search again after a few days to confirm

After you send it

Keep the confirmation email, and search again in a week or two to make sure the listing is gone. People-search sites often add people back months later from new records, so look again every few months. The planner reminds you when, and keeps a dated record of each step.
